Gran Tacande Wellness & Relax

A truly amazing and well established, big hotel in South Tenerife, a member of a chain of hotels in the Canaries. We were so impressed that we visited twice, in January and again in late September this year. Both times we had a wonderful experience particularly with the spa which was simply the best feature of this hotel - honestly not very well described in their brochure. Basically it is open everyday and if you choose the gold level booking is available for 2 hours free. They have various sized pools of seawater with hydrotherapy massages, saunas and so on - they were not at all crowded but we visited off season both times. We booked directly with the hotel for a gold level room which comes with 2 hours of spa time every day and free airport pick up and drop off in a nice luxury car! They also offer decent discounts when booked direct. The location is superb in Costa Adeje, well away from the crowds but within walking distance to the beach and the neighbouring restaurants. The hotel itself has a few restaurants but we just stuck with the nice buffet restaurant which serves a variety menu for breakfast and dinner. The rooms were extraordinarily clean with a superb bed, a beautifully functioning air conditioning that was never too cold and worked without any issues. The shower was simply amazing with multiple powerful spray jets and with a hydrotherapy jacuzzi in the balcony plus so many more options if you visited the spa, we were spoiled for choice. The staff were very helpful at every point - can't name them all but a shout out to Carolina at reception for being so helpful and Eduardo at the restaurant (what a gentleman!). We would likely stay there again if we visited Tenerife in the future. Well done to the management for making our stay so pleasant.

Our second visit to the Tacande and we were not disappointed. Location is excellent - opposite beach and near to shops, bars and restaurants. Impeccable service in all areas of the hotel - reception, bars, restaurants, maid services - all friendly and efficient. They could not do enough to make sure you enjoyed your stay. Good tennis court - we played every day. Enjoyed our visit to the new Michelin-starred restaurant Haydee, which is attached to the hotel. Our room in Casa Fuente was huge with a lovely terrace and great views all round of the sea, the pool area and the mountains behind. The only criticism I have is that the room layout means the bath is quite prominently in the room (which is a bit odd) and that there is no proper door on the toilet. However long you have been married to somebody, some things are still better left private!

Check in and welcome was perfect. David at check in was very gracious and welcoming. We are especially thankful for the room upgrade. Rooms were spacious, clean and quality was maintained daily by friendly cleaning staff. Hotel facilities including pools were generally clean and well maintained. Since our last visit in 2023 there has been some improvement in the situation with roaches. There was a wide variety of good quality food at breakfast and dinner. We appreciate the reduction in quantity and therefore food waste. Wait staff - generally friendly, efficient and attentive. The maitre d's at every meal were warm and welcoming. We would especially like to mention Dodi for his exceptional service. Niccolo is a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, there were some staff who did make us feel unwelcomed and a burden when making simple requests. This resulted in us avoiding some areas of the dining area and pool bar. However, we did make drink requests with the pool servers were lovely and hard working and would always ask if we enjoyed the drinks. Service at the Azotea bar was very good. Dinner entertainment was well chosen and we particularly enjoyed the violinist and harpist. Piped music throughout hotel and at poolside were notable additions and enjoyable. The SPA was a perfect complimentary addition to the stay and was enjoyed by the entire family. We have been coming to this hotel for over a decade and appreciate that this hotel (Gran Tacande) continues to maintain its' high standards and to market itself to a particular clientele. Thank you for another memorable experience.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything was lovely from start to finish. The food was delicious, with plenty of choice and excellent quality throughout our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. Their excellent service really made our holiday extra special. The pool area was absolutely spotless and very well maintained, making it a pleasure to relax there each day. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and in a fantastic location. Just outside the hotel, there was a beautiful clean beach within easy walking distance, along with many lovely restaurants, cafés, and shops nearby. It was the perfect place to enjoy both relaxation and exploring the local area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return in the future. Highly recommended!

The entire hotel was very clean and the staff were always very helpful and accommodating. The facilities there - the pools, private areas (Gold rooms), Spa & Wellness, restaurants and bars etc. - were all of high quality and standards. The hotel is also located close to the beach and a reasonable walk from the marina and other restaurants and bars along the strip (Costa Adeje / Playa de las Americas etc.). Travelling to and from Tenerife South airport took less than 20 minutes. The room (Gold Level Suite with Hot Tub and Ocean View) was lovely and opened up to a private pool-area, which I was not aware of beforehand and was a nice surprise. I highly recommend this hotel A+++
