Luxury beachfront hotel & golf course offering chic quarters, fine dining & a luxe spa.via Google

Un resort sulla scogliera con campo da golf e beach club propri, che ospita anche M.B., il ristorante con menù degustazione più quotato dell'isola, rendendolo tanto una destinazione gastronomica quanto un hotel.

We’ve just returned from a 6‑day stay at this hotel. The aesthetics are undeniably stunning and very “Instagram‑friendly”, but beyond that we struggled to find much to praise. The facilities feel undersized for a hotel of this class, especially the kids’ club and the swimming pool, which both seemed quite small. We were also refused a tour of the spa before paying to enter, which did not create a welcoming impression. Breakfast choice was surprisingly limited – six days of top‑quality English breakfast is still not good when there’s little variety – and overall the hotel lacked any sense of vibrancy or atmosphere. There was little effort from the hotel to engage or entertain guests, so despite the beautiful surroundings it sometimes felt like being back in lockdown. Your eyes are pleased by the design, but the overall experience ends up feeling oddly depressing. On a positive note, the hotel’s beach is noticeably better than the other public beaches we visited in Tenerife. Overall, I think this Ritz Carlton is over-rated, we much prefer Rixos resort.

From the moment we arrived, the level of service we experienced was truly exceptional. My wife and I chose this resort for our honeymoon, and despite a disastrous start to our trip—arriving 12 hours late and entirely without our luggage due to airline complications—the staff immediately turned our experience around. They were incredibly accommodating, ensuring we had all the basic essentials we needed and expertly pointing us in the right direction to get settled. The room itself far exceeded our expectations. Furthermore, the staff consistently delivered top-tier, unparalleled customer service; their kindness and helpfulness cannot be overstated. The property is massive and remarkably self-contained. It features everything you could possibly need, meaning you never actually have to leave the resort grounds. However, should you wish to explore, it is conveniently located just minutes away from outside entertainment and attractions. I cannot recommend this resort highly enough, though there is one caveat for future travelers to consider. Given the premium price point and the overall sophisticated, classy ambiance of the property, the presence of noisy children and unruly parents felt quite out of place. While this behavioral issue falls squarely on the guests rather than the resort management, I do wish this was an adults-only establishment, as we paid a premium and expected an atmosphere to match. Despite that minor grievance regarding the clientele, the resort itself is spectacular. If I could award them 12 stars, I would do so without hesitation.

We had a wonderful stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Tenerife. We stayed in the Imperial Suite, and from the moment we arrived until the day we left, we were exceptionally well looked after. The level of service was consistently warm, attentive, and professional. The property is absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking views, perfect weather, stunning grounds, and an atmosphere that makes it easy to completely relax. The restaurants were excellent, and every meal we had during our stay was of a very high standard. We highly recommend Akira for incredible sushi and Mirador for the stunning views. A special thank you to Mr. João, who took outstanding care of us throughout our stay. His professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made our experience even more memorable. He is a fantastic manager and a real credit to the hotel. Thank you to Olesya as well who was a big help during our stay. Thank you to the entire team for such a memorable stay. We will absolutely be returning and would highly recommend The Ritz-Carlton, Tenerife to anyone looking for a truly luxurious getaway.

By far the best hotel on the island! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again—it’s the only place I’ll ever book. Having a private beach is a huge plus; we loved it so much we even paid to visit after our stay ended. If you want great ocean swimming, this is the place. Beyond the beach, the team is wonderfully welcoming and positive. The on-site restaurants are also top-notch. I’m definitely planning my next visit!

I spent 12 nights here with my family, and my stay at The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama deserves a 4/5 rating. This hotel is often described as the best in Tenerife, but it should be said clearly: it is rather the best available option on the island, not a true global 5★ standard. The biggest drawbacks are related to infrastructure. The air conditioning in the room was unstable (working intermittently), there were unpleasant sewage smells, and in the main part of the hotel some elevators were out of service. These are issues that should not happen at this level. We stayed in the Retreat section (supposedly the better one), and although the rooms are refurbished, their standard is at most a solid 4★+, without the “wow” effect expected from luxury hotels today. The biggest advantage is the pools in the Retreat area – large, very quiet, offering a high level of privacy, and with no competition for sunbeds. This is one of the few elements that truly delivers a premium feel. As a positive aspect of an older hotel, it should also be noted that, by Spanish standards, the service is good – the staff is polite, helpful, and genuinely tries to resolve issues. The golf course is good, but nowadays this is standard in most high-end resorts, so it is not a distinguishing feature. In summary, the hotel has strong fundamentals and a great amount of space, but it is clearly a property from the 2000s that has been modernized in stages. The result is a somewhat inconsistent experience that does not meet current luxury standards. The 4/5 rating reflects the fact that it is still one of the better options in Tenerife – but it still falls short of a true global 5★ experience.
