Een terras dat locals half schertsend de woonkamer van de stad noemen, met ropa vieja en papas arrugadas con mojo en een van de mooiere zonsondergangsuitzichten over de oude stad.

Having walked past this place for many years, finally decided to try it out. We enjoyed delicious food, including highly recommended desserts, accompanied by a fine bottle of wine. Location is perfect 👌 to enjoy the Las Canteras Beach and watch the people going by. Highly recommend a visit.
Went for our last meal of the holiday. It was surprisingly good. The black pudding didn't taste too strong, said Scottish husband. Indoor seating has mainly stools which is uncomfortable and the sun shines through a lot which gets hot. But then eating outside is too windy as it faces the promenade and a corner. Can't win either way. Daily special was good. Friendly service. Menu in different languages were helpful.
The place has an excellent location right on the promenade, with a very authentic atmosphere of a traditional Spanish bodega: a small, cozy space with hanging jamón legs, barrel-style tables, and a rustic feel. The ham and wine were genuinely good, and overall the place makes a pleasant first impression. However, our experience was mixed. We arrived as a large group (around 12–15 people) and were greeted rather coldly, without much willingness to help us get seated. In the end, we found free tables ourselves and settled in. The most disappointing moment was the categorical refusal to split the bill, even by the three tables we were sitting at. There was also a general sense of being ignored — minimal attention to guests, as if our presence was more of an inconvenience. I should also mention a hygiene concern: the owner was handing out menus, dishes, drinks, and receipts, and then, without washing his hands, he proceeded to slice jamón and arrange it on plates, handling the product with bare hands. This didn’t look very clean. Overall, the place is atmospheric and the products are good, but the service and attitude toward guests left an unpleasant impression. Perhaps the staff were having a difficult day, but our visit was not the most successful.
This place is very tasty, homemade and fast and friendly service ! The Croquettes were amazing 🤩 so wish there were more vegetables with the food but as a suggestion rather than criticizing ! The homemade rhum shot was delicious !
I recently dined at a charming restaurant in Gran Canaria and was blown away by the authentic Canarian flavors. The warm, welcoming atmosphere paired perfectly with the delicious traditional dishes. The papas arrugadas with mojo sauce were a standout, and the fresh seafood paella was cooked to perfection. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking to savor the true taste of Gran Canaria, this place is a must-visit! Highly recommended.
