Ein kleines Adults-only-Gästehaus um einen Garteninnenhof – eine ruhigere Option als die größeren Hotels näher am Hauptplatz.

Do not call this place a "hotel." And 4 stars? You must be joking. The only nice thing here is the beautiful courtyard. Other than that, if you are afraid of bugs, I highly recommend staying away. I stayed in Room 6. Upon entering, there were various small bugs and little spiders all over the curtains, and a fly playing hide-and-seek with me. The next morning, I even found two long worms curled up by the wall. The bath towels had obvious stains, and the shower gel dispenser fell off. There were also hairs on the bedsheets,I have no idea if they belonged to the housekeeping staff or if the sheets weren’t changed at all. Parking spaces are limited, when I drove back after going out, I was forced to park on the roadside.

The Hotel San Diego gets from me 3,5 stars. I did give 4 here because I think other rooms in the hotel are better than the one I had (room 6). I do think the overall rating is a bit inflated. First the positives: -Communication from the owner is really good and fast -The location of the hotel is great, close to the centre of la Laguna and also easy to get to by car -Good parking on the premises even though it is located in the city -The hotel is a real beautiful city villa with a lush garden The negatives points are: -The room had a bit of weird smell and was quite unpleasant The room was located outside the main building and was very noisy. The walls were very thin and because it was located next to the entrance, so sleeping with an open window was almost impossible -The breakfast was OK but not mind blowing -A boutique hotel like this should have a personal touch to my opinion. The own check in and check out is very impersonal and it is a bit paradoxical to a boutique hotel

Good things: - Nice location, beautiful neighbourhood, quiet, close to bus stations and a lot of restaurants - breakfast staff nice and friendly - nicely decorated Bad things: -we had worms in the toilet, horrible and unpleasant experience for us. We notified the staff, they ofered to give us another room but also said they will apply pesticide first thing in the morning so we decided to keep the room since it was the nicest they had from our point of view. The second day worms were back, messaged them again, they said sorry and that was it. For a 4 star hotel which is also not cheap we would have expected some kind of compensation, it is not normal to be scared to use the toilet half of your trip. - room kind of worn out, from our perspective you can tell it was not taken care of properly - bedsheets kind of worn out, even though we knew they were washed they had that old smell, were a little bit greyish and had stains - same for bathroom towels, worn out, with stains, even though they were washed it is not a nice experience to use them. I understand it is not ok to change them often, but when they get stained and threads start to come out of them, maybe they should be replaced - not many options at breakfast and also did not refill the food that was finished. On our first day we arrived at breakfast at 9 and there was not much food left - broken window in the balcony - there was someone at the reception only for a few hours a day Overall I would not call this place a hotel. Especially for the worms in the toilet experience I would have expected to not have to wait one day for someone to solve, or in our case, not solve it.

We arrived late at night, due to a late incoming flight to Tenerife. Maria had already contacted us prior, to ensure we would be able to get into our rooms with a personal pincode. Hotel is wonderful, hosts Maria and Eva are helpful and they try to accommodate you in any way. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. In all, one of the best hotel experiences we have had. Would highly recommend this great hotel.

Absolutely wonderful, wonderful stay. The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast divine and the location is ideal - in a quiet residential area 10 min walk to the historical centre. Even beyond all of this I must say the care received from Maria and the entire team was second to none. I think the Canary Islands have the warmest, kindest, friendliest people in all of Spain and I think the hotel has the warmest, kindest, friendliest people in the Canary Islands! Great professionals, and I highly recommend!
